Healthy Kids Breakfast

Kids and broccoli are some of the most complicated duets to get as a parent. It doesn’t matter how much you try; they end up shaking their heads, crossing their arms, and you want to give up on healthy kids breakfast and let them eat the chocolate you tried to hide from them.

To many people, seems that kids are against healthy eating and prefer sugary snacks. But it’s not because veggies and fruits aren’t delicious, but the way you present and introduce your kids to food. Kids are curious beings and if you tell them to not do something because it will impact them negatively, chances are, they might do it and actually healthy kids breakfast can be delicious.

If you ever said told your 5-year-old to put away the cookies because it’s bad for their health and to eat his/her green-looking, no taste soup instead to get strong, this advice is for you. As doing so, your kid might associate harmful behaviour with delicious/excellent outcomes and start acting recklessly to get good consequences.

That said, it’s time for you to put aside the negative observations around the sugary-snacks-types of food, and start diversifying your meals. Choose a new strategy for your kid’s diet rather than telling them to avoid chocolate.

Are you asking yourself, “How am I going to put that theory in practice?”

My answer to you is to start with breakfast because is the best and easiest way to do so. We understand the rule: Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. In order to get the best of his/her classes and day, your child will have to eat a breakfast packed with nutrients.

But first, it’s crucial to know what nutrients your kid needs to get the healthiest breakfast for a day full of energy.

The must-have nutrients for kids are protein, carbohydrates, fats, calcium and vitamin C, among others.

  • Protein

Protein helps transform food into energy. We can find it in meat and fish, eggs, beans and dairy products.

  • Carbohydrates

The number one source of energy of our body! It helps protect and regenerate tissues. Forms of carbohydrates are bread, cereals, crackers, etc.

  • Fat

It assists the body in using other nutrients. Again, meat is a fantastic source of fat, but it’s in nuts and cooking oils too.

  • Calcium

This one is easy. It makes your bones strong and healthy, besides being essential for the heart and blood. Milk, cheese, eggs, ice cream have a vast quantity of calcium.

  • Vitamin C

It helps the body heal wounds and hold its cells together. Citrus fruits, strawberries, melons, papayas and mangos are the strongest source of Vitamin C.

Now that you know what your kid’s organism needs to function well, it’s time to gather a few amazing and delicious breakfast ideas not only for your kids but for the entire family!
