Paloma Cocktail
In Spanish, the word ‘paloma’ means ‘dove’. It is a traditional Mexican-inspired cocktail mixed with fresh grapefruit juice, fresh lime juice, and sparkling water. Paloma is a perfect drink that is like juice but packs a punch. The rosemary or thyme adds a touch of flavor, glamour, and health benefits.
Ingredients required to make Paloma Cocktail
1 tsp of fresh thyme or rosemary
1 tsp of agave nectar (optional)
1 tbsp of Tajin (optional)
3 shots of tequila Blanco
3 shots of 100% grapefruit juice
1 squeezed lime
Dash of sparkling water or club soda (optional)
The quality of tequila in a paloma cocktail is pretty important in this cocktail since the flavor depends on it. You definitely don’t need to use the best, but good quality is key. A few good qualities of tequila are Codigo, Clasaazul and Casamigos.
Grapefruit juice adds many wonderful features to this cocktail. Grapefruit brings the sweet and tart flavor to the drink and makes the most beautiful blush color. You can also use store-bought grapefruit juice if you do not have fresh grapefruits, but make sure that there is no sugar or other ingredients added, this could change the whole flavor of the cocktail. It is as important as grapefruit juice to make a perfect Paloma cocktail. You can also use a bottled lime juice since only 1 ounce is needed.
Sparkling mineral water is also the main ingredient that is poured into the glass to top it off and this makes the cocktail so good. You can also use club soda which gives the perfect bubble that finishes these off so well.
