Indoor Activities For Kids
Since TikTok has become the new craze, for children and adults, I have found some exciting activities you can get your children involved in even when you are in lockdown. As I can only imagine, lockdown has been a nightmare in terms of keeping kids entertained and happy, but this means I may just have the key to keeping your children happy. Here are some ideas for indoor activities that can be fun for all ages.
First up is, Indoor ice skating... yes you heard me, indoor ice skating, not for the children of course but for their toys! This cool activity isn’t even that difficult to make, all you’d need is some tinfoil, a plastic lid or dish of some kind, an ice cube tray and your kid’s favourite toys. This then creates a fun ice-skating rink for your children’s toys which seems to be an all-round winner!
Second is an edible activity (don’t worry, it’s not too messy!) this allows your child to play with fake edible sand, in their own mini sand pit! All you would need is a blender, cheerios or any cereal, and something to put it in. By blending up the cereal you create a sand-like substance which is edible, and fun? Sounds pretty good to me.
Thirdly, Sensory play is another fun activity for your child to play indoors. By cooking plain old spaghetti in food colouring then allowing it to cool and placing it in Ziplock bags, it allows for your child you play with fun textures without the mess.
Lastly, painting can become pretty messy, right? Especially with little Picassos around the house, all over the walls, books and anything you thought you may want to read or look at later on. This is a way to make painting less messy and more entertaining. All you would need is a Ziplock bag, paints, and a canvas – by inserting the canvas into the bag and placing blobs of paint into the bag this allows for a no mess finger painting session. Once mini-Picasso is finished you can just take it out the bag to see your masterpiece, and once dry up on the fridge it can go. A bonus one for you if you don’t mind a bit of mess, this one could be fun. By using dish soap and washable paints, mixing them together into a thin consistency you can create window paints. So your little artists can create their own stain glass window artworks, but of course this can get a little messy and a bit of cleaning for you mum (or dad) but it can create hours of fun depending on how many windows you may have in your house, if you don’t want your children going crazy on your windows you could always grab a spare mirror and let them experiment on that.
